Empowered Woman of the Week; Loreina Corwin.

Empowered Woman of the Week; Loreina Corwin.

This weeks Empowered Woman of the Week is Loreina Corwin. I met Loreina in Hollywood about 5 years ago. She was a girl that was so beautiful, but carried such a positive aura around her. Right when you meet Loreina, you will see there is so much more to her than her looks. She is so sweet, enthusiastic about life, humble, and authentic. These are traits that people in Los Angeles can really lack. I knew she was a special girl when I met her. It’s funny, I think one night at a club when I was working, a girl was being rude to me, and she said something to her like, “excuse me, be nice to her. There is no reason to be rude”. She is a true “girls girl”. I chose Loreina to be my “Empowered Woman of the Week”, because she is kind, ambitious, hard working, recruiting for some of the biggest reality shows on TV currently, and because she is also a cancer survivor. Loreina was diagnosed with cervical cancer when she was 21 and had a full on hysterectomy. She is now freezing her eggs, so that one day, her fiancé and her will be able to have a child via surrogate. A dream she has always had, is to be a mother and a wife. She knows she will never be able to carry her own child, yet she has not given up on her maternal dream. Loreina is a huge animal lover, loves her dog, and worships her mother. She is a very genuine person who has worked hard to overcome difficult situations. Loreina loves fashion, and even designed her own fashion line called “Leo Luv”. Loreina has even modeled for various brands, she has been a stylist for models on photoshoots, as well as styled ladies for red carpet events. She is a true “Jack of all trades”, or maybe “Jill of all trades”. This girl is really the total package and a sweetheart to boot, without giving away too much, here is our interview! Enjoy!

1.   1. Tell me your full name, age, and where you’re from.

Loreina Ann Corwin, 29, from Newcastle, CA, a tiny mountain town in Northern California.

2.Tell me a little about your upbringing? What were you like as a young girl and teenager?

I Came from humble beginnings, loved my family, nature, my animals, reptiles. I Wasn’t afraid to get my hands dirty! My dad says I was always a leader. He always tells this story. When I was at the playground and all the swings were taken (which were my favorite), I would go dig a hole (and make it look fun), so everyone would get off the swings and start digging holes. Then I would hop up on the empty swing. lol. I don’t remember it, but he loves telling that story. When I was a teenager I was a pretty good kid. I got good grades and loved Volleyball and hanging out with friends! I always knew I wanted to be a college graduate and I ended up at Sac State after graduating high school and moving out at 18.

I did some acting, modeling, and wardrobe styling, but recruiting just unexpectedly fell into my lap, I am extremely good at it, and casting companies continue to call me for new big projects all the time, based on referrals.

 3.     What did you want to originally be when you grew up? Did you ever think you would be where you are today? What made you want to become what you are today?

I wanted to be either an entomologist or a news reporter. I was fascinated by insects and I also loved being in front of the camera (not much has changed). I lost my vision for both though, somewhere during my high school years. These days I still love both of those things, but I now work in reality TV recruitment and casting. Looking back, I would have been like, “that’s the coolest job ever”.  I grew up watching Survivorand American Idol, so I’ve always been a reality TV fan! I didn’t really decide I wanted to be a recruiter. I did some acting, modeling, and wardrobe styling, but recruiting just unexpectedly fell into my lap, I am extremely good at it, and casting companies continue to call me for new big projects all the time, based on referrals. It started out, me just doing a friend a favor by working an open casting call.

I was diagnosed with cervical cancer when I was 21. I had a complete hysterectomy.

 4. When did you move to Los Angeles and how come

I ended up moving to Los Angeles after getting my associates degree, and beating cancer. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer when I was 21. I had a complete hysterectomy. I went to Cedar Sinai for a second opinion, and that’s really when it clicked. I wanted to move to LA after kicking cancers ass. So, that’s exactly what I did. I beat cancer and shortly after, I got accepted into Cal State Long Beach and started in the spring of 2013. I graduated with my BA in Summer 2014. I LOVED my school and all the culture and new experiences I was surrounded by.

 5. How did you get started doing what you’re doing and how did you really start to become successful? What does success mean to you?

A friend from LA, a huge casting producer Alex Stern, asked me to help with a Big Brotheropen call here in Dallas. I worked for the company recruiting online for two weeks prior to the open call. I ended up finding Elena Davies, who made it on the show, out of tens of thousands of applicants nationwide. After that, the calls for new jobs for different shows kept coming. I’m not one to turn down jobs so I took them happily. Shout out to my girl Alex Stern, for giving me the opportunity and believing in me! I believe success is finding something you love, and doing it. I am very much successful because I am happy.

6. Tell me about your business and the projects you’re currently working on?

A few of the recruiting jobs I am most proud of are Elena Davies on Big Brother, Tristan Thompson (not the basketball player), and Danielle Dodd on Married At First Sight Dallas. I recruited two personal friends from my hometown on Kevin Hart’s show Total Knock Out, and I’m currently watching this season of The Bachelorettewith two of my recruits still in the running Kevin Fortenberry and Devin Harris! I’ve also recruited for Temptation IslandAre You the One, and Relationshipped!

My mother has given me strength and courage, in every chapter of my life. I am so thankful to have her as my role model and best friend.

 7.  What is your greatest achievement thus far? What or who inspires you?

My greatest achievement so far is beating cancer. You don’t have anything if you don’t have your health. When I first got diagnosed, I was terrified, but I stood my ground and did everything in my power to fight it off. My family hired a naturopathic healer to come stay with me and teach me how to cook and eat super healthy (no gluten, sugar, dairy, meat), and we also did some very intense cleanses, which including soaking in a scolding hot tub with spicy herbs while drinking hot tea. I also did daily coffee enemas. I do believe fighting cancer aggressively with both Western and naturopathic remedies helped me win my battle. My mother is definitely my inspiration. She’s the strongest, hardest worker I’ve ever met. My mother has given me strength and courage in every chapter of my life. I am so thankful to have her as my role model and best friend.

8.  For people who want to build or grow their business or brand, what advice would you give?

I would say never settle. If you are not happy in your job, find a new one. If you are not happy in your relationship, find a new one. Life is too short not to enjoy it. Sometimes you need to make the tough decision to leave stable grounds to find yourself, and find happiness. It’s what makes us stronger. Never give up on finding your happiness.  Believe it is out there, and go get it.

I’ve made so many mistakes in my life, but I don’t let those mistakes define me. I use them to grow and reflect on.

 9.  What career and life advice would you give young girls who look up to you?

I would tell young girls to be easy on themselves. It is ok to make mistakes. No one is perfect.  I’ve made so many mistakes in my life, but I don’t let those mistakes define me. I use them to grow and reflect on. I tell others about my mistakes, because I am not ashamed.

Cancer took away my ability to carry my own child, but I still have my ovaries and never gave up. I can’t wait to become a wife and a mother.

 10. What are you most looking forward to in the future?

I am most looking forward to starting a family. Recently, my boyfriend of 3.5 years got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the best moment of my life so far. I had waited 26 years for a good guy to come into my life, and he finally did. I’m so thankful I waited for him. He’s the love of my life. We recently had my eggs extracted so we will be able to have a baby someday (via surrogate). Cancer took away my ability to carry my own child, but I still have my ovaries and never gave up. I can’t wait to become a wife and a mother.

 11.  What is your ultimate life goal?

My ultimate life goal is to be happy.  To be kind, help people, make an impact, share my story in hopes to inspire others.

I would never consider myself “too cool to be nice”. In fact, I do not like mean girls at all.

 12.  What are things that people assume about you, that aren’t true?

Some people assume, that I’m stuck up or snobby. I’m neither of those. I enjoy conversations with people from all walks of life. I’m one of those girls who makes new friends in the women’s bathroom. I would never consider myself “too cool to be nice”. In fact, I do not like mean girls at all.

 13.  What is something most people don’t know about you?

Most people don’t know that I’m kind of a hillbilly. I love to be outdoors. Fishing, exploring, getting my hands dirty. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my nails being done and wearing pretty clothes, but people close to me know that I can throw my hair up in a ponytail and go look for deer sheds at my fiancés ranch, and be perfectly at peace in nature.

 14. Why do you think Women Empowermentis so important?

Women empowerment is so important because, females are strongest when we all rise together. We need to be there for each other, support each other, and help each other. When we stand together, we are a powerful force to be reckoned with.

 15.  What would you say your best qualities are?

My best qualities are loyalty, honesty, and positive thinking.

16.  How can women support each other more?

Women can support each other more by sharing their own stories and struggles. Letting other women see their vulnerable side, and that they are not alone in whatever battle they may be struggling with. Also, give compliments! Tell a stranger you like her shoes, be friendly and open. Join women support groups and share your advice and wisdom, and learn and listen.

 17. How can women feel more confident?

Women can feel more confident by knowing that they are amazing just the way they are. Whatever age, weight, hair color, skin color, disability or not. You are perfect just the way you are!

I have scars on my stomach from my hysterectomy. I was a little insecure about those at first, but then I learned to love them.

18.  How do you overcome insecurities? How can others overcome their insecurities?

I overcome insecurities by learning to love my differences and embracing them. I have scars on my stomach from my hysterectomy. I was a little insecure about those at first, but then I learned to love them. They are my battle scars. The fact I have them means I fought a battle and won. I am proud of my scars.

19. What are the things in life you value the most?

The thing I value most is definitely time. Time never stops, and you never know when your time is up. To me, my time is the most valuable thing I can give or receive. I’m very picky about who I give my time to. I enjoy spending my time with my family, close friends, and dogs because they are what make me the happiest.

 20. What does it mean to you, to be an “empowered woman”?  How did you become empowered?

To me, being an empowered woman, means knowing who I am, and choosing to love myself.  I became empowered through all my struggles. They have made me who I am, and I am damn proud of myself.

Empowered Woman of the Week; Rebecca N.

Empowered Woman of the Week; Rebecca N.

This week, I interviewed a very special person in my life. Rebecca N, My best friend since I was 12. Rebecca is the very person I think of when I think of what an empowered woman is. Rebecca has been fighting stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, and has gone through brain radiation as well, all in the last month, for over 50 small brain lesions, ALL while running a successful all natural and organic skin care line and being a mother of 3 young boys and being a loving wife. Rebecca has shown so much bravery, strength, and determination in all aspects of her life, but especially her fight with cancer. I’ve never seen someone so cool, calm, and collected most of the time while going through intensive brain radiation and chemo. I’ve admired her tenacious and profound faith and trust in God and her general optimistic outlook on life and her purpose. To say she inspires me, would be a huge understatement.

I remember the first day I met Rebecca, Becky to me, (I’m the only one allowed to still call her that). I was in seventh grade and she was a new student. She had blue jeans on, a white round neck top, small hoop earrings, and her hair slicked back in a perfect ponytail. Back then, I was of course very immature and finding my way through puberty and purpose, and I was jealous of her. I automatically didn’t like her, because she was beautiful, sweet, had boobs unlike me, and all the guys were drooling over her.

I was such a brat to her, and still months later, when my house burned down, guess who offered me a place to live? I was in shock, she totally overlooked my faults and how I had treated her, and took me in happily and forgivingly. I have so much gratitude to her and her family to this day, for taking me in when I was left with almost nothing. This is the year we became more than just best friends, but soul sisters. I have had so many laughs and cries with Becky. She has been with me through so many of my life’s highs and lows. I lived with her at 12, 17, 18, and 19. She has been the most amazing friend to me, protected me, defended me, and just put up with a lot of crap from me. Sometimes, I think I’m not worthy to have such an amazing friend.

That aside, we have had so many laughs together, adventures, happy times, and some downright outrageous times.  Rebecca now lives with her husband and family in Idaho, but we keep in touch, and when I see her it’s like no time has passed at all. She has such a loving husband who I appreciate so much, and is a mom to three of the cutest little boys.

Rebecca created and owns the skincare line called The Crunchy Mama Bear. It’s an organic and all natural skin care line with products such as body lotion, deodorant, facial masks, eye cream, lip balm, bug spray, and so much more. She runs the entire business on her own, even producing it all and shipping it, but now I am told she has hired another mother of 3 to help out. She also plans to hire more women in the future. She is super woman to me. How she finds the time to be a wife, mom, survivor, and business owner is just incredible.  I could go on and on about how great she is but I’ll shut up and let you get to know her down below!

Tell me your full name, age, and where you’re from?

Rebecca N, 32, I lived in Iowa for 22 years, moved to California when I met my husband, and then moved to Idaho a year ago.

Tell me a little about your upbringing?  What were you like as a young girl/teenager?  What made you want to become what you are today?

I was raised in a very loving, stable home. I’m the youngest of 4, my parents have been married since 1973.  Since I grew up in a small town, I was given the freedom to explore my world, which was small, but I was able to play outside using my imagination, making friends, and exploring until the street lights would come on.  This is part of the reason we moved to Idaho, to give our children a slice of what we had growing up.  It’s much slower pace than California and very peaceful and safe here!

The best part of it all, is that I get to help people eliminate products they’re already using, and give them a non-toxic solution.

Today I am a mom of 3 boys and a grown step-daughter.   My boys are 7, almost 5, and 2.  My husband and I have a unique situation where he works from home with the same job he had in California, and so do I!  Going back to my youth, I was raised by parents who’ve always been very natural minded, avoiding doctors through healing foods and herbs was our way of life.  My father taught me how to make my own medicines and tinctures.  This inspired me as I became a parent myself, to start making products for my family that were safe and completely natural.  I started my brand The Crunchy Mama Bear over 3 years ago.  It’s truly a passion of mine. I get to formulate and tap into that creative side of myself.  The best part of it all is that I get to help people eliminate products they’re already using, and give them a non-toxic solution.

Whatever you’re doing, do it with integrity and birthed out of helping others, and you will have done something with “success!”

How did you get started doing what you’re doing?  How’d you really start to become successful?  What does success mean to you?

I started by perfecting one product, and then slowly adding others.  I took years putting myself out there, collaborating online, and doing live markets all over Northern California.  Success is a tricky one, it depends whose lenses you’re looking through.  I believe success is not a monetary value, but a reputation you’ve made for your passions.   This business has been a blessing financially to my family, but that’s not “success.”  I think people trust my company because I put a quality product out there that they trust, and so they tell their friends and family.  Whatever you’re doing, do it with integrity and birthed out of helping others, and you will have done something with “success!”

Tell me about your business and the projects you’re currently working on?

A big part of my story, is that last year the same day we closed on our home in California, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  True to who I am, I choose to heal naturally.  I went to alternative clinics in Mexico twice, but unfortunately the cancer was too aggressive.  After 5 months of alternative treatments, I had to start conventional medicine.  Now I blend the two worlds!  During this year, I’ve had to close my business down twice and thankful to an amazing team and quick recovery, I was able to start back up.  It’s been a miracle to continue doing what I love.  I’m doing very well, and will have scans again June 11th.  To learn more about this long amazing story, check out my personal Instagram @cmbhealingjourney

Currently I keep very busy online, I have a few whole sale accounts and I’m doing a small market close to me a few times a month.  I have a lot I want to do, but have to stop myself from wanting to create so much, and just focus on what I’m already doing and of course healing!

What’s your greatest business achievement so far?  Who inspires you?

Being a breast cancer survivor, I am most excited to successfully get women on natural deodorant.  I’ve actually helped thousands now, yay!  The deodorant that’s on the market is greatly affecting our breast health.

I am inspired by so many people, people who are truth seekers.  I love to listen to Vaughn from Spirit of Health KC to learn about the human body and Todd White on Youtube. They are amazing teachers of the body and soul!

Be generous, be about helping others.  Whatever you do, do it with excellence.  It’s going to take hard work, be willing to put in the long hours and dedication.

For people who want to grow their business or brand, what advice would you give?

Whatever you do, stay true to you, don’t try to ride someone else’s train.  Do your business/brand with honesty, and treat others how you’d like to be treated.  Be generous, be about helping others.  Whatever you do, do it with excellence.  It’s going to take hard work, be willing to put in the long hours and dedication.  Don’t put your business/brand above God or your family, ever.

Learn how to use social media, it’s FREE (mostly).  Be a debt free business if possible, this will relieve a lot of stress and allow you to focus on what you love.

What career and life advice would you give young girls who look up to you?

Be a good human, loving others and doing your part to make this world a better place.  What can you do to help others right now?  What you see right now, is not what it will be like forever, think, really think about your future and what you want for your life, and make decisions now that will influence that!

I wish I would’ve had the ability to see my future, and not make reckless decisions based on what I only saw right then and there.  What you think about and spend your time doing, influences what you think about yourself and your purpose here on earth.  Spend time listening to music, social media, reading books that influence you in a positive way.  I guess I’m saying that if you’re not thinking right, then do things to change it, you’re not stuck.

I’m looking forward to my scan June 11th. I’m believing all 50 brain lesions will be gone!

What are you most looking forward to in the future?

Well my last scan, eyes to thighs, showed no active cancer.  I was actually told by my doctor that I’m a miracle.  I’m like “I know!”  I’m looking forward to my scan June 11th. I’m believing all 50 brain lesions will be gone!

I’m also looking forward to Summer break, we have a lot planned.  Lots of swimming, vacations, friends visiting, concerts, and just time with the people who I love!

What is your ultimate life goal?

To love others the best I can!  Be a more present mom and wife.  Be there for others who are going through cancer or another health crisis.

What are things that people assume about you, that aren’t true?

Just because I love Jesus doesn’t make me perfect, or think I’m better than anyone! This relationship and life is a journey and I’m a work in progress.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I’m creative but struggle to keep things organized.  I’m also terrible when it comes to finances.  No one is good at everything so delegate to others your weaknesses or learn how to be better in them!

Also I spend time daily going through messages or calling and speaking to others who are battling cancer, I’m not going to let a day of this dx go to waste!

We need to be there for each other. Life is hard enough, we can make it harder for someone or we can be the person to support and encourage them!

Why do you think women empowerment is so important?

I think it’s important to empower women in a world that says they like the idea of it, but fails miserably at times.  If you feel you’re judging, gossiping, and tearing other women down, then  spend your energy working on yourself so you can better love and build other women up!

We need to be there for each other, life is hard enough, we can make it harder for someone or we can be the person to support and encourage them!

There are so many ways to just be there for a person, and it takes us looking outside of own world for a minute, but I promise when you do, you will be blessed!

How can women support each other more?

Be the person who has a million things going on in their own world, but stops at the grocery store to tell the mom with 4 kids that she’s doing a great job, or shop at that small women owned business, follow that women on social media that inspires you and comment on her posts, see what you can do to help a young or single mom friend, offer to take a new women friend out for coffee/lunch (maybe you’re the person they’ve been praying for).  There are so many ways to just be there for a person, and it takes us looking outside of own world for a minute, but I promise when you do, you will be blessed!

What do you say your best qualities are?

I’m becoming a better person through age and this dx.  I would say though I’ve always been very sensitive to how other feel.  I’m the peace keeper and want to make sure everyone is happy.  This is good and can also be bad because I let how others feel affect me.

How do you feel you’re helping empower women?

I feel thankful to have platforms where I can share my business, and now my healing journey.  Through sharing what some keep very private, I’ve been able to be there for others, share real raw feelings, and show that there is hope in the midst of the hardest things you face in life.

I’m showing that it’s possible to be a busy mom and successful business owner, and to face obstacles, and keep moving forward!

Now if that isn’t inspiring, I don’t know what is. I love this girl. Thanks so much Rebecca for sharing your story, and your thoughts with us. Continued prayers for you! I love you.

Empowered Woman of the Week; Emily Wetzel

Empowered Woman of the Week; Emily Wetzel

Ladies and Gents, Meet Emily Wetzel. Emily is a celebrity makeup artist and hair stylist whose worked on many famous faces and manes. That being said, Emily is currently on tour with The Eagles in Europe! What an amazing gig! I know as an avid traveler, I’m jealous of all the cool cities on the tour sheet she’ll be exploring. Emily is also a super talented artist in painting, drawing, and anything else creative and artistic. She is passionate about spirituality, meditation, and living for the soul’s purpose, not the egos. Emily also just happens to be my closest girlfriend in Los Angeles. I have known her for 5 years now, and I knew immediately upon meeting her, she was one bad ass, ambitious, hard-working, empowered babe! Emily is a beauty, but there is so much more depth to her. She’s really so much more than you’re used to. Without further ado, here is Emily’s interview. I hope you all enjoy getting to know her a little more, like I did! XOXO

1. Tell me your full name, age, and where you’re from.

Emily Wetzel, 28 years old from North Carolina.

2. Tell me a little about your upbringing? What were you like as a young girl and teenager?

I was raised in the south, spending my early childhood years in Tennessee and moving to North Carolina for the remainder of my childhood/teenage years.  I was lucky to have extremely supportive parents and and older sister who set a good example.

I was creative, imaginative and loved to play and be involved in anything artistic.  I styled all of my friends hair for school dances and loved makeup and painting.

3. What did you want to originally be when you grew up? Did you ever think you would be where you are today? What made you want to become what you are today?

I thought I wanted to be a lawyer.  I went to school for criminology and political science and got a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.  While I was in college, I worked at a hair salon called Seagrass to earn spending/bill money while in school.  I developed a love for hair and makeup while I was there and decided that I wanted to go to cosmetology school rather than law school after graduation.

4. When did you move to Los Angeles and how come?

I moved to Los Angeles a couple of weeks after graduating hair school.  I wanted to start my career in a bigger market with more room for opportunity.

With my love for art and painting, I felt like I hit the apprenticeship lottery!

5. How did you get started doing what you’re doing and how did you really start to become successful? What does success mean to you?

By the time I graduated hair school, I had already worked at a salon for four years.  I had experience but not the type of experience required to work in Hollywood.  I was blown away at how big it was and how much more intense the beauty industry was in LA than where I was from.  I started assisting a stylist named Danny Moon at a salon in West Hollywood called Andy Lecompte.  It was a great opportunity because at the time Danny was working on every celebrity and he was known for his methods of using bright and fun colors.  With my love for art and painting, I felt like I hit the apprenticeship lottery.  I learned a lot from Danny and ended up working for other top stylists until I got an opportunity to go on tour with Joe Walsh.  Joe took me around the country with his solo tour, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tour and now worldwide with the Eagles.  I am a colorist at Andy Lecompte salon and couldn’t have more gratitude for my coworkers, clients and friends that I am surrounded by in my work life.

6. Tell me about your business and the projects you’re currently working on?

Aside from being a touring hair and makeup artist and colorist while I am in town, I have an art studio in downtown Los Angeles.  I’m currently creating a collection of large canvas acrylic paintings.  I plan to have the collection complete by the end of this year.

My greatest achievement is getting involved with meditation and learning that I have complete control over my mind, mental health, and state of consciousness.

7. What is your greatest achievement thus far, and what or who inspires you?

My greatest achievement is getting involved with meditation and learning that I have complete control over my mind, mental health, and state of consciousness.  For so long, I put my self worth into outside factors, such as my job, relationships and friendships.  That way of living is not sustainable for constant happiness.  I am inspired by Mooji, who is a guru that I have followed on YouTube for a while.  I hope that with the technology and social media epidemic, some positive outcomes can occur, such as more information about consciousness and how to control it.

8. For people who want to build or grow their business or brand, what advice would you give?

The best way to grow anything for yourself is to grow things for others.  If you want something, give something.  People get so caught up in themselves, and don’t realize the quickest way to grow is to get involved with others. Collaborate, volunteer, apprentice.  Grow a network that will support you, because you have supported them.  Stop focusing so much on yourself and focus on the community and watch abundance flow to you.

Pay attention to your gut, your body, and the universe. They are constantly speaking to you.

9. What career and life advice would you give young girls who look up to you?

I would say to spend your energy working on your inner self and stop trying to control outside situations.  Everything we manifest begins in our core.  Our reality on the outside, is a direct reflection of our mental state.  The reality with experience, is a result of the mental images with a processing that because physical truth over time.  Pay attention to your gut, your body, and the universe. They are constantly speaking to you.  You have all the answers within.

10. What are you most looking forward to in the future?

I am looking forward to finishing my creative projects and learning more about art from others.  Art is such a special, magical act of intention, and I want to spend as much time possible in that headspace.  I want to meet like-minded individuals who want to create a more beautiful world and collaborate with them.

11. What is your ultimate life goal?

To live in the present, to live intentionally, and to know that no matter what happens or what result ensues, I am exactly where I need to be.

12. What are things that people assume about you, that aren’t true?

That’s none of my business 🙂 But… If I had to guess, it would be that I am materialistic, since I work in the beauty world.  I would say that’s not completely false as I love beautiful material things BUT as I get older, I am working to put less importance on those things, as they are just ego.

Most people don’t know that I am really interested in existential theories and science.

13. What is something most people don’t know about you?

Most people don’t know that I am really interested in existential theories and science.  I can talk for hours asking questions like, why are we here? What are we? Where do we go when we sleep? The list goes on…

For so many years women were taught to compete with each other.  That old way is dying out, and a new era of love for each other is emerging.

14. Why do you think women empowerment is so important?

Women are the only portal between the spiritual and physical world, because we have the ability to bring new life in.  If we aren’t empowering beings of that capability, what new generation of souls are we bringing in?  Children absorb the energy from their mothers.  We need to love our women, uplift our women.  For so many years women were taught to compete with each other.  That old way is dying out, and a new era of love for each other is emerging.

15. How can women support each other more?

Women can support each other by promoting and buying from women-owned businesses, listening when an ear is needed, giving words of encouragement, speaking truth always, not engaging in gossip or harmful dialogue towards each other and getting involved in community organizations that promote women’s rights and outreach.

16. How can women feel more confident?

I think that confidence is directly associated with self-worth.  There are so many narratives being pushed that your worth is based on your productivity, social or economic status and correlated with age and beauty: this is simply not true.  We are worthy as humans by birth right.  We need to work on this mentality and practice it daily and the confidence will come.

17. How do you overcome insecurities? How can others overcome their insecurities?

I overcome my physical insecurities by working to be healthy.  I am worried less about my weight and have put my attention in exercising and eating to feel energy.  When you live like this, you know you’re doing great regardless of what size clothes you’re in.  I overcome my mental insecurities by assuming nothing and knowing that what’s for me can’t be lost.

18.  What would you say your best qualities are?

I am extremely loyal.  If someone is my true friend, I’m down for them forever. I am also a hard worker.  Those are two qualities I am proud of.

19. What are the things in life you value the most?

The cliche answers: my family, my friends, my pets.  All of the blessings that life has presented to me.

Becoming empowered is simply what it sounds like “I’m powered”

20. What does it mean to you, to be an “empowered woman”? How did you become empowered?

Becoming empowered is simply what it sounds like “I’m powered”… claiming the inner power you were given at birth and owning it because it is yours, always have been ,and can never be taken away.
